Radiant Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with Global Environmental Technologies has developed Monostatic and Doppler Sodar Technologies. Sodar is accoustic remote sensing technique to measure wind speed and turbulance.

This technique is recognised by the Environmental Protection Agency USA and Central Plllution Control Board India.Sodar provides low cost, reliable, mobile, easy to install & operate and networked system for providing air pollution meteorological data collection and analysis method. Sodar is suitable for monitoring air quality and environmental impact assessment studies for Industrial Plants, Airports, agricultural meteorology. Air pollution parameters measured include wind profile, stability class characterisation, nocturnal inversion formation and decay, stack height prediction, mixing height, urban heat island circulation, thunderstrom down burst, detection of onset and dissipation of fumigation.


Our monostatic Sodar has Range of one Km. , Operational frequency of 1-5 KHz, Range resolution of 0.5 to 10 meters, Transmitter power 10 accoustics Watts, Receive sensitivity of 10 mv/ micro bar, Antena 4 ft. transportable parabolic dish with built over accoustic shield. Data processing includes analysis & of daily/

weekly / monthly / annual, calculation of mixing height, Inversion height, stability class, pattern recognition, vertical wind velocity, heat flux. Doppler Sodar has 3 axis co-located antenas, multiple operational frequencies, velocity resolution of 0.5 m/sec, Accuracy of +- 0.05 m/ sec and data processing includes wind vector profile.
